A strong Treaty of Amity and Solidarity has been signed between the Grand Orient of the United States and the Gran Oriente Ibérico in Spain this month. This cheerful event has been in the works for several months and both Masonic powers are very happy to work together in fomenting the Masonic ideals so often kept in secret by many. Grand Officers of GOUSA are also scheduled to also visit Spain within a few weeks, to continue expanding on this Fraternal relationship.

The new online Masonic magazine Avant Garde premiered this month. This excellent periodical is unique because it seeks to unify and contribute to all flavors of Freemasonry currently found in the United States. The Gran Oriente Masónico Chileno has signed in Santiago, Chile a Treaty of Amity and Solidarity with the Grand Orient of the United States. As a consequence, their Grand Master and Grand Senior Wardens will be visiting the United States in May to meet with members of Benjamin Franklin Lodge No. 11 in Washington, D.C. Confirmed attendance to greet these international dignitaries from Chile are Liberty #3 (GW Union) and Lafayette #89 (GOdF).

January 2010

The Grand Orient of the United States of America has scheduled its annual Meeting of the Council to take place September 17, 18, and 19 of this year in Cleveland, OH. A record number of lodges, triangles, members and visiting dignitaries have already confirmed their attendance. GOUSA expects these annual meetings to continue growing not just in numbers, but also in the types and quality of Masonic subjects covered. A limited number of Masonic papers will be considered to be presented. If you are interested in presenting something, please contact us.

2009 GOUSA Council of the Order

2009 marks the first annual Council of the Order of the Grand Orient of the United States of America. Free-Masons from across the country gathered at Halcyon Temple in Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday, the 19th of September for the purpose of conducting the business of the Order.

Slavery in the 21st Century. The Grand Orient of the United States of America, Accepted Free-Masons, is opposed to all forms of human slavery.

Grand Orients urge boycott of Durban II
The Grand Orient de France, the Grand Orient of the United States of America, the Grand Loge feminine de France and the French Federation of Human Rights have also called in a joint statement the United States and European Union countries not to take part in "Durban II". The conference chaired by Libya and vice-chaired by Iran is trying to "impose the superiority of Islam over other religions and ways of thinking, to promote gender theories and to reject the universality of human rights", according to the groups.

After a long journey the Patent and Treaty from the Grand Orient of France has arrived at Halcyon Temple, the headquarters of the GO-USA in Cleveland, OH.

Grand Master to attend Lafayette No. 89, GOdF. The Grand Master will be in Washington D.C. to attend the celebration of the founding of Lafayette Lodge No. 89 of the Grand Orient of France.

George Washington Union. The Grand Master of the Grand Orient of the United States of America will be meeting with the Grand Master of the George Washington Union of Freemasons for an official  signing ceremony of the Treaty of Amity between the two bodies.

High Grade Bodies Established. The Executive Board of the Grand Orient of the United States of America has approved the creation of a Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Grand Consistory of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, and Grand Chapter General of the Modern Rite.

GOUSA Elects new Executive Board. The Council of the Order of the Grand Orient of the United States of America finished its week long session with the election of a new Executive Board.

GOUSA receives Patent from GOdF. The official Patent from the Grand Orient of France giving the Grand Orient of the United States of America legal Masonic authority to work in North America was signed in Paris on Friday, the 27th of June, 2008 at 9:15 AM EST. A Treaty of Amity was also signed between the two sovereign Masonic entities.

The Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty returned to Paris when the Grand Orient of the United States of America presented the Grand Orient of France with a framed print of the Lady Liberty in New York harbor. This was symbolic of the continued spirit of fraternity that has existed between American and France since the American Revolution.

GOUSA receives the Orders of Wisdom
The Grand Orient of the United States of America and its Grand Chapter General were hereby given legal Masonic authority, in the USA, for the « Orders of Wisdom », such as codified in 1784 by the Grand Chapitre Général du Grand Orient de France.
